Leblanc serial numbers
The Parisian clarinet with an American log.
G. Leblanc built clarinets in Paris and, from the 1940s, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The US log from 1964 onward survives in three matching copies; the archive follows it, with the model-specific blocks (Leblanc 340, 342 and the rest) separated out.

Questions
Can this archive date Leblanc instruments from the serial number?
Yes — the archive covers 16 numbering sequence(s) and 321 dating ranges from 1964 to 1999, compiled from published maker records and reference charts. Every answer states its source and confidence.
Where is the serial number on a Leblanc instrument?
For Clarinets the common location is on the upper joint opposite the logo, often also on the lower joint and bell — read the upper joint.
What if my Leblanc serial number is not found?
Recheck the characters exactly as marked, including any letters. Letter prefixes often belong to student or stencil lines. Some periods may not be covered yet — every refusal here says why.
