Cabart serial numbers
Lorée's second line, two sequences with a rule.
Cabart built oboes in Paris and became F. Lorée's second line around 1960. Numbers from the Lorée-era follow the 'first two digits give the year' rule; the original pre-takeover series has no documented rule — the archive keeps the two apart.

Oboe — 1 ranges
Cabart (founded 1893) was bought by Lorée in 1974 (the Cabart name had already been used for Lorée's student oboes); the community rule is that after the changeover the first two digits of the serial give the year (e.g. 00037 = 2000, a dealer-documented Cabart 74). The pre-takeover Cabart numbering is a different sequence with no chart.

Questions
Can this archive date Cabart instruments from the serial number?
Yes — the archive covers 1 numbering sequence(s) and 1 dating ranges from 1960 to 1960, compiled from published maker records and reference charts. Every answer states its source and confidence.
Where is the serial number on a Cabart instrument?
For Oboes the common location is on the upper joint or the bell — Lorée letters sit low on the upper joint.
What if my Cabart serial number is not found?
Recheck the characters exactly as marked, including any letters. Letter prefixes often belong to student or stencil lines. Some periods may not be covered yet — every refusal here says why.
